Where's Good to Eat?

Banff Dining

The Canadian Rocky Mountain towns of Banff, Canmore, Jasper and Golden are developing a cuisine style all of their own.

Whether its working with local game meats like Caribou, Bison and Elk or seafood from the coast; BC salmon and Digby scallops, or the famous Alberta Beef, chefs are combing local ingredients with fresh seasonal produce to create distinctive meals.

Snowmobile Tours from Banff

Banff SnowmobilingNo snowmobiling is allowed within the boundaries of Banff National Park, due to the strict protection regulations.  However there are a number of snowmobile tours that leave from Banff hotels each day for the Golden and Panorama areas, that border Banff National Park.

Grotto Canyon and It's Pictographs

Grotto Canyon CanmoreWhen you first see the images in Grotto Canyon you are amazed that they are still visible after all these years.

Heli Skiiing near Banff

Heli skiing is one of those must do experiences for every skier or boarder, at least once in a lifetime (warning: it can be highly addictive).

Caving in Canmore

Our reservations store staff recently went Caving in Canmore and had a fantastic time.  It's a great activity and family friendly as there are caving tours availabile for children 10yrs plus.

We would definitely recommend for the active person/family looking for a more adventurous thing to do while staying in Banff or Canmore.

Especially on cooler days in winter or rainy days in summer as the caves remain a constant +5C temperature year round.

Banff Getaway

Banff Getaway

Sometimes you just need to getaway from the big city, the traffic, the kids, life in general and just come to the mountains and remember how to breathe…

Q: I need to take my wife away for a quiet weekend, without the kids. We would like a nice room with a jacuzzi or fireplace and have a quiet dinner closeby. Where should we go?

Johnston Canyon IceWalk and the story of fools gold

Do you know the story of Johnston Canyon, and the great gold and silver swindle?Johnston Canyon

Hiking in Banff

Hikes in Banff National ParkOne of the best ways to experience the mountains in Banff is to get out on foot and go for a hike. It’s really rewarding to get away from paved roads
and become surrounded by beautiful forests, lakes and mountains. Here at Discover Banff Tours, we offer a guided hike to a different area every day

Mountains in Banff

The four Banff mountains that everyone uses to orientate themselves in the Town of Banff are Tunnel Mtn, Sulphur Mtn, Cascade Mtn and Rundle Mtn.

While you are in Banff, I definitely recommend getting up to the summit of one of these mountains to get a bird’s eye view of the town of Banff.  There is no better feeling than to be at the top of a mountain and have the chance to experience the sheer beauty of the Canadian Rockies.
